On the obverse there is a right-facing portrait of Alexander the Great with a diadem and ram horns (horns of Ammon).
On the reverse, modeled on the medal image of the Thracian king Lysimachos, Athena Nikephoros sits on a throne to the left, with a trident under the throne.
