The Csók István Gallery and Antique Store is one of the most original and historic antique shops in Budapest.

Our store, the Csók István Gallery, maintained by the former Képcsarnok Vállalat, was founded in 1950 in the heart of Budapest, at Váci str. 25. The painter István Csók himself was present at the opening ceremony and formally gave the Gallery its name. At first, our offer included contemporary paintings, graphics and small sculptures, then later, more emphasis was placed on antique works of art and antique jewelry, and today they make up a significant part of our offer. After the change of regime, the Képcsarnok company closed more and more exhibition halls, so in 2011 the Csók István Gallery also moved from its original location.

Today, albeit on a smaller floor area, we have returned to the bustling life of Váci Street in downtown Budapest. As a result of our continuous, expert and persistent work, our shop windows and showcases were filled with more and more beautiful objects of art. Our collection of antiques and modern jewellery, works of art and numismatics is also unique in an international context. Our trained experts with many years of experience are at your disposal, whether it is for appraisement or valuation, acceptance on commission terms or purchase for cash.

In 2020, on the 70th anniversary of our store, we also launched our web store with a high-quality selection, where the esteemed customer can choose from thousands of works of art and jewelry. We are constantly expanding our offer to show the treasures of this wonderful profession to those who have not yet visited us in-store.
